Hey!

After reading the previous two posts I felt this strong urge to post too.

First, I want to thank all of you for being part of my life over the past two years. The journey would have been very different without any of you and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Sure, there were ups and downs, but looking back, the first word that comes to my mind is 'wow'. And it will always be 'wow'. All the outings, especially Sentosa, being late for lessons, sitting at the back, sneezing and suaning (yeah like Xianglin, I've got Sam to thank for that) will form a pretty large part of my memory of life in VJ. I honestly feel very blessed to know all of you and like Wayne I hope we can all stay together.

For someone who dreams of attending college at Harvard or UPenn, my grades fall far short of my dream. If I said I wasn't disappointed I would be lying. But the point I want to make is that there will be many obstacles in life, and this is just one of them. I'm sure many of us are disappointed because we feel that our results do not reflect our effort. But the only way we should channel that disappointment is towards working even harder for our A'Levels. Not just because that is the exam that really matters, but also because the important thing is to always do our best. Like Xianglin said, "It's all in the mind".

Posted below is a speech I want to share with you. It's by J.K Rowling at a Harvard graduation ceremony. It has been pretty inspirational for me to listen to her speech and I hope it'll touch you too. Some of you might have watched it already, for those who haven't, it's about 15mins I think; if you're taking a break from studying, do take some time to watch it. For me, the last two years have been full of fun, learning, stress, mistakes and regrets. I will always remember the fun and the learning. For the stress, mistakes and regrets, I will only take the learning points away, and be thankful that things could have been worse.

I guess you all know, year 1 wasn't the 07s47 year for me, i had other commitments, and yea i was much closer to my choir friends than the class, but
time really tells everything.
my choir friends kinda went their own ways ( i guess u all understand what i meant) and that's when i realised that all along thr's always this bunch of people who will be there for me, and that's you guys.

Going for CCAs and doing other commitments feels like you're outside doing something, but when we're all back together as a class, it feels like
home.
the place, the presence where we make ourselves 100% comfortable. even with sensitive handsome guys and pretty demure girls ( you all la) around, there is no need to hide our unglam sides.
all the sneezing, yawning, singing, cheering, sleeping and bad-hair days
it'll be quite cool if we can all stay together huh.

as a classmate and friend who has the worst results,
i have no right to encourage you all to study hard, to guide you all in your studies and so on.
but yes, as a classmate and friend who has the worst results,
i have the right to tell you all that YOU GUYS CAN MAKE IT because i've seen the efforts you guys have put in.
i have the right to tell you all that YOU GUYS ARE JUST SO BRILLIANT because thats the way you are.

Xianglin talked abt how we should just try our best so that we wouldn't have any regrets, and i believe thats the mindset that we ought to have.
&
and i wanna say that if you're not going to be happy in your life, then you'll regret putting in so much effort for A's. cuz A's is all abt what we hope we can achieve in life using our results.
Mr Teo talked abt how BRUTAL the outside world is, and how we can forget about changing the world.
but i believe we can make something out of it in this brutal world. i believe that no matter how brutal this world is, we can make an impact in people's lives and change them for the better, that even though the world is still so cruel, the marketplace that we'll be in will at least change for the better. the friends that we make with in the future, they all can change for the better amidst this messy situation the world has to offer.

at the end of the day, you know that you have been a blessing to people, and most importantly, you're satisfied and happy with the life you have.
i guess that's what we want to achieve in our lives.
people, use your results to make this place a better place.
it is really really possible.

Hey 07s47,

today marks the last official day of schooland i just wanna make use of this post to thank each and everyone of you for the wonderful 2 years of 07s47.

I remembered i made a 'speech' duringthe ct rep selection. I said that i will do my best to gel the class together. Unfortunately, i think i didn't keep that promise.

We entered the class with different backgrounds and it was evident that it was a really different environment for many of us. It's a regret to leave the class in the same manner but i think we have all learnt something in the process. Now it's not the time to think about regrets but rather, reminisce on the good times that we had together.

I would like to thank the class for giving me the opportunity to be the ct rep and eventually leading to all the valuable opportunities that i receieved in my jc years. Life would have been very very different for me without this class. I kind of neglected the class especially in J1 due to my busy schedule. But I'm glad that i have a bunch of friends and classmates supporting me all this while and being so understanding and encouraging. The class is like a retreat for me whenever I feel stressed and worn out, because i know you guys are always there to welcome me, just like home (: You guys are really one of the most understanding and thoughtful people i have met in VJ.

I guessed i have seem to appear as a different person in class and out of class. Maybe like what steffi said, i was trying to maintain my image out of class. Oh well, there's always different sides to one's personality. I haven't been a great role model but you guys don't need one anyway, you should be the role model to yourself. Forget all the unglam-ness and retardedness (though i bet it has been like some free entertainment to you), i'm actually a very glamourous and intellectual girl :D (don't laugh!)

Oh, and there's my 'class committee'.

You are always taking the initiative to help me and encouraging along the way. Admin stuff would have been horrible without your help.

And there's another person i want to mention - SAMUEL TAN. Honestly i have no idea whether to thank him or just bastard him here. But oh well his presence did make a difference to the class. Our guys have inevitably learnt his pattern and the degree of suaning in class has rose (with me being a victim).

For that melanine-free, made in switzerland giant toblerone! :D Thank you for making my job much easier and for believing in me. I'll fight hard for that 4As!

Okay, now it's the time for all of us to fight hard. I understand it's tough, i understand that efforts don't seem to pay off at this moment and the feeling sucks. It's never easy to reach the top and we all know that. Whenever i failed in achieving something, I'll always tell myself that the problem lies in the fact that i'm not fighting hard enough. And it's true. I think many of us know it too. But humans just tend to find excuses for themselves and despite knowing what's the problem, we don't correct it. That's why people do not succeed. I've always believe that it all lies in the mind. From mugging to taking the paper, confidence and attitude are very important. You gotta believe you can do it. I may not have been fully demostrating what i'm preaching now, but i promise that i'm going to show that whatever i have said works, and i'm fighting hard for A Levels. And i hope you guys do so too. We all have the potential, and now it's the time to unleash it.

It's just 30 over days away.
Results may not be everything,
The most important thing is that you don't want to have any regrets when you look back. Because that regret will haunt you for life.
You will want to tell yourself that " I have done my best, and i have no regrets " when you look back.

In an exclusive interview with a popular local tabloid, he reveals his ambition to be Singapore's equivalent of the renowned Jay Chou. Hey s47, can we adopt a tree as a class pls?
it's 150 dollars per tree, which is roughly 6 dollars per person, that is if we are adopting as a class, though it seems quite ex, but to think of it, it is the cost to maintain the tree for at least 20 years,including fertilisers, irrigation and all that. so it's actually quite cheap lor..
and most importantly, it's for a good cause! the ppl thr really nid this kind of activities to help them for their eco-tourism..
besides, dun u think it's quite cool to have a class tree?
other classes are adopting oso, s37,s41,s34,s44..i'm nt trying to say tat we should adopt a tree jus because other classes are doing it oso(actually got a bit lar =P), but, we really nid ur support..

It has really been a long long long time since I've blogged an entry here.

(: Siewmai really did a great job in revamping the blog. Haha it looks so much nicer now.

Anyway, looking back, I am really missing the orientation days and the first half of the year when we slacked and had fun together. After hanging out with you guys through this whole year, I feel that I am kind of lucky to be in the same class as you people. Unlike my previous classes, all of you people are nice, real and trustable friends whom I can rely upon. (: Guess it's kind of hard to be able to find such a nice bunch of people elsewhere eh.

Now that promos are over, all the best for PW everyone! I know some of us are getting fustrated and irritated. Persevere and jiayou people! We shall tolerate and tahan together.

On the other hand, lol. Can we like put one day aside for Sentosa the coming sunday or monday?? (: Stef and I really want to go there and hang out with you guys. haha.

okay now, after seeing all of my inspring classmates blog (actually only 2), i shall blog too.

i'm not very good at blogging on the class blog but here it is..

these 9months in VJC being in 07s47 has been a blessing. i have to admit that nowhere else can i find people that are more honest or truthful or innocent.

we have studied so hard for the past 9months and next week our promo results are getting released. honestly, i have a very bad feeling about it for myself, but i guess i did my part by studying real hard.

so i would just like to wish all my classmates all the best for their results, and whatever the outcome might be, good or bad, i hope you will be okay with it. :)

so what comes next? pw???? hahaha. strictly no comments.

very soon we'll all be year2s and very soon the guys will have to enlist in the army and do our nation proud. very soon we will lead our own career paths, and meet up once more, reminicising all the good times we had together.

thinking back,i wasnt very happy/pleased/excited or watsoever when i first met all of you during 2nd day of orientation,i hav to admit i got quite turned off after seeing so many foreigners in our class cos of the horrible experience i had in the previous hostel,in fact i still hate my current roommate,thr r jus this kind of horrible scholars in singapore,but luckily all the prcs in our class turn out to be the good ones,and we mix pretty well with them and they r jus as crazy and fun-loving as us,dont u agree?
well perhaps u'll still rmb tat after the release of o level results a few of us thought of transfering to other classes cos we thought 07s47 would be quite a sad class,but i think we were wrong then,and luckily no-one left,except *coughs*happy-man*coughs* (lol) and others who went to other jcs,and the new classmates we had then turned out to be as mad and fun as us too
personally i feel very fortunate to hav all of u as my classmates, and i believe we r one of the most bonded one in vj
jus like xl, 07s47 is always the most comfortable place for me,along with odac, i duno how to put it in words,but i think it's the mutual trust and the stronger than metallic/ionic/covalent bond we share,i can very comfortably share everything with all of u,and 07s47 is jus like a family to me
no offence to our senior class,but looking at them and us, i think we r definitely much bonded,and though our class is also separated into different cliques(is this how it's spelled?) i thought our clique of 10 ppl hav jus nice number of ppl,it's a lot easier for us to settle outings and stuffs and we still mix well with the other 14 members of the class,and tat shows great socialising skill of us lol
now jc1 is goin to end soon,and jc2 will be a lot more stressful and less fun,but i believe our friendship and bond will jus grow stronger with time,and i rly hope tat this place wont die down even after we left vj,my previous class in malaysia had this class-forum and even though practically everyone is in different countries/universities, they will still update it frequently,i hope we can do the same thing next time after we graduate,and pls hav at least 1 reunion every year!

Initially, I got FOUR tickets during the first allocation.
After second allocation, I managed to get TWO.

Dumb, I know,
BUT!
I missed the collection time for the tickets today.

._. 2 Tickets gone.

Together with steffi, both of us ran down to the booth, cursing.
Then, we realised that they are ballotting some more tickets by 'lucky-drawing' slips of papers with names of people at the booth, who want to try for the tickets.
When they had already reached the last one to be called,
Steffi and I went, ' Wah. No hope liao. We are so stupid!'

But,
miracles do happen.
My name was the last name that was called!

My friend called in the afternoon, said there was an earthquake at SAJC.
Can you believe it? Would you? It sounded very absurd, so I didn't believe him haha... who would... then later in the evening they reported in the news that there was earthquake in Indonesia, and that tremors were felt here in Singapore. but many of us couldnt dance properly
cause we are unfamiliar with the dance steps
and for the friendship dance.

Anyway, someone update me what happened during VJ's CNY celebration! My friend told me there was mass dance at the end of the concert. Haha. Any funny things happened in our class during the mass dance? who danced with who during friendship dance? On that day, I actually slept until 11am. It was SO satisfying... to be able to sleep like nobody's business.

Where are we going on Wednesday?? Somehow I look forward to Wed. GET EXCITED PEOPLE. Wednesay is going to be our first class outing!
